Super Bowl XLVIII coming to NJ!

Super Bowl 48 coming to Meadowlands, NJ in 2014

The New York area will be getting it’s first (and probably only) opportunity to host the NFL Superbowl in 2014. After FOUR rounds of voting from NFL team owners, it came down between New York / New Jersey and Tampa – With NY/NJ prevailing!

Many folks feel this was done purely for economic reasons, to help sell the expensive season ticket licenses, and get the highest bid for corporate sponsorship on the new stadium.

How do you feel about the city selection?

The Xanadu name is out. It’s now “The Meadowlands.”

I’m all for it. I think every 10 years or so a cold-weather city should at least get a shot at a Super Bowl. I think it will be good for the community and a lot of $$$ for the area.

Of course it would be even better if the Eagles are in it. Muhahaha.

I agree with Furey, would love to have it in our backyard. Would love to see the Eagles in it too just as long as the eagle’s opponent has a final score of 42 to the Eagle’s 0 šŸ˜† [quote comment=”192778″]Iā€™m all for it. Maybe now the casino will finally come to the Meadowlands or Xanadau or whatever they’re calling it these days.
