National Learn to Row Day: June 5th

Open House at Nereid Boat Club – Rutherford, NJ

Many Hoboken residents are interested in learning how to row. And as you probably already know – Hoboken has it’s own Boat House at Maxwell Place uptown. However, because The Hudson River has very dangerous currents – boating is limited to certain days, depending on the tides.

So you might want to know about the Nereid Boat Club in Rutherford, NJ – which is located on the Passaic River. And since The Passaic is a “sheltered river,” relatively narrow and therefore calmer water conditions prevail. The Passaic provides miles of outstanding rowing – and may help those afraid of navigating the rougher waters of the Hudson.

On Saturday, June 5th – from 9am to Noon, they’re having an open house in conjunction with National Learn to Row Day. No experience is necessary, and the event is free and open to the public. MAP.
