Yoga-Thon at Hoboken’s Pier A Park

Benefits Children and Teens with Cancer…

Join Kitty Blincoe, RYT, Kula for Karma, and Ronald McDonald Camp on June 12th from 9 AM-11:30 AM at Pier A Park in Hoboken for a yoga-thon fundraiser. This day has been designated as “Yoga for Children and Teens with Cancer”. All funds raised will be used by the two non-profit organizations to benefit these children by integrating yoga into their lives. There will be 5 continuous 30-minute sessions of yoga guided by local yoga teachers. Experience being one with nature and neighbors as you practice yoga under the big blue sky along the Hudson River overlooking the New York City skyline.

Kitty Blincoe, RYT, was inspired last summer to create this fundraiser after volunteering at Ronald McDonald Camp through her association with Kula for Karma. She witnessed firsthand how much the camp experience meant to each of the children suffering from cancer. Practicing yoga only several times a week transformed the children’s lives by lifting their spirits and decreasing their pain and discomfort. At Ronald McDonald Camp, campers have the opportunity to laugh, have fun, and enjoy being kids. They can experience new activities and acquire new skills in a supporting, nurturing environment.

Kula for Karma offers yoga, nutritional and therapeutic support services to populations who are challenged by life’s difficult circumstances, such as illness, abuse and addiction. Their programs, which include offering free yoga to children and teens with cancer, provide the recipients with much needed emotional, physical and spiritual benefits.

Registration for the yoga-thon is $18 per individual or $45 per team for one or all of the classes. Registration fees are waived if a participant’s fundraising goal of $400 is met. To pre-register, download pledge forms or make a donation go to: and click on “Events”.
