Is Le Bernadin worth the expense? I’ve never been.
I’ve done Keller’s French Laundry and thought it was an out of body experience and worth every penny.

I’ve always wanted to try French Laundry - I’ve heard (and this sounds like a confirmation) that it’s beyond excellent.

Confirmed.

Le Bernadin is the essence of perfection from food to wine to service. It is so good that it is almost hard to imagine. I would highly recommend it.

I went to Le Bernardin once. It was amazing. Worth the money if you have to to blow on a meal. I almost never do stuff like that, but I was glad I did that night.

So KS, did you pick up a case of wine here or not? What did you think?

I did. My thoughts are:
10% case discount vs 20% at other stores made me unhappy, but then I looked at the price per bottle on what I bought and it was about the same after discount price as places that do 20%. Friendly, knowledgeable, eager to help staff - definitely rates high in my book. Selection was broad, and when they didn’t have the brand I was looking for, they were able to give me a good substitute.
I’ll be drinking the wine all week, so I will let you know if any stinkers show up, but I doubt that will happen.

irish- thanks for the suggestion.

KS-Glad you liked the place. I’ve always found them to be both helpful and reasonably priced. Wine Library in Millburn is still tops in my book, but that is a little bit of a hike. So what are you drinking as far as wine goes? What labels or varietals do you like? I had a really nice Montepulciano d’ Abruzzo at Gottino the other night after work. I love Italian wines.

Great selection, but all of their six packs are $2-$4 more than they are anywhere else.
