Lucky’s Famous Burgers now open!

Spring 2012 Note: Lucky’s Burger to be replaced by WindMill Hot Dogs & Burgers.

Hoboken Lucky to have another option for burgers

9/27/2010 Update:

In case you don’t find yourself downtown often – Lucky’s Famous Burgers opened this past weekend.

On opening day, Lucky’s was packed and it seemed to be the spot of choice for those in the area watching games at bars. On Sunday late afternoon, it was a lot quieter. Maybe it was the fact that Giants fans were depressed after losing again. I ordered food and took it home, but had a few fries before making the 15 minute trip uptown. They were crispy and pretty perfect, actually. By the time I got home, though, they were a little soggy.

The Lucky’s Famous Cheddar Burger, however, didn’t seem to affected by the trip and was delicious. The toppings they put on (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, ketchup, and mustard) were fresh and perfect and the bun was soft, and the meat very juicy. This is probably now one of the best places in Hoboken to get a “quick burger” (in a pinch). I can’t say it’s the healthiest – the fat content of the meat seemed a little higher than other places – but it is one of the tastiest “fast food” style burgers around.

PS – I still recommend the burgers at a regular restaurant (like Mikie Squared – who serve fantastic, juicy burgers with fresh meat from local butcher Truglio’s.)

Hoboken Lucky’s Burger Update

4/28/2010:

Update: Forgot to add that Lucky’s Famous Burgers is owned and operated by managing partner Michael Trenk, formerly of The Capital Grille steakhouse, Tribeca Grill, Nobu and the W Hotel, all located in New York City. So that might help you believe that the burgers will be great.

Lucky’s Famous Burgers coming to downtown Hoboken

Many Hoboken residents and visitors have their feelings about certain eateries in the downtown area – some good, some bad.

You’ll soon have a new option at 79 Hudson Street – Lucky’s Famous Burgers. Lucky’s is a two location NYC burger joint that prides themselves in producing top-notch “made to order” hamburgers and other items to hungry diners looking for a well-made meal.

“The concept is simple! We start with the very best of everything: Freshly ground, 100% USDA prime beef, with our special seasoning; crisp iceberg lettuce; sliced Spanish onions; plump, juicy, vine ripened tomatoes; and deli cut pickle chips served atop a soft Martin’s potato bun. In addition to our juicy burgers, we serve 3 terrific chicken sandwiches and plump Hebrew National hot dogs. Our signature Lucky’s Chicken Sandwich is a fan favorite accompanied by crispy bacon, American cheese, iceberg lettuce, a fresh slice of tomato and our Lucky’s Famous chipotle sauce.

Lucky’s Famous does not disappoint when it comes to our steak cut onion rings and our crispy crinkle cut French fries. Adding our homemade spicy chili and melted cheddar cheese to an order of Lucky fries makes for a great combination. Want a healthier alternative? Try our fantastic, mouth-watering, homemade turkey burgers or our 100% all natural vegetarian burgers, praised as “the best tasting vegan burger in NYC.” Have a sweet tooth? You won’t be disappointed! Lucky’s Famous now offers freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and a variety of frosty milkshakes.”

Have any of you tried Lucky’s? Psyched they’re coming to Hoboken?

I agree with Manolo. It’s pathetic that they claim free delivery and then charge $2.00 delivery fee! 👿

Get over it. It is $2. Seriously. No wonder Hoboken is a joke when it comes to food given this stingy BS. If you don’t want a delivery charge, get off your ass and pick up your food. Otherwise, accept that delivering to you means paying a little more to those employed. And shut up, seriously.[quote comment=”207626″]I had to pay a 2.00 delivery charge because we ordered online. So… I saw this post and went to get a burger Monday afternoon. Unfortunately, when I walked in I was told that they were not open and were waiting on permits.
