King of Wings & Pizza!

6/3/2010 Update:

First impressions of KOWP Pizza pretty good!

After seeing the somewhat positive comment activity for King of Wings & Pizza over the bridge in Weehawken – I had to give it a try. With zero expectations (i.e., I was fully prepared for it to suck), I ordered a large plain pie and some “toxic waste” Chicken Tenders (not wings).

Pizza: Pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. The pizza looked very similar to a pie you’d get at Uptown Pizza, but more “dough coverage” and substantially cheaper ($14). The taste without any condiments or spices was just a smidge on the bland side, but the sauce had rather rich flavor. Some garlic and hot pepper would improve the pie considerably. They might benefit from a sprinkle of oregano and a few basil leaves prior to baking the pizza.

Chicken: Road kill. Inexplicably tough and chewy. The Toxic Waste sauce was just that – a waste of time. I’ll give the actual wings a try next time – and that will be their last chance for chicken.

Delivery: Fast (under 25 minutes) to uptown Hoboken.

Have any of you tried their offerings?

So I tried KOWP for the first time yesterday only because Wings to Go told me they were too busy to deliver wings to me. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised by their wings. I ordered both Buffalo hot and the Thai chili wings and thought both were on par with Wings to Go. Will definitely order from them again and will have to give the pizza a go next time.

There were wild times at the zoo, the best was when a “chick with a d**k” was dancing and his/her package popped out.

I live in Weehawken. I ordered last sunday from king of wings. The delivery came on time. the food was very good, their wings are jambo and their prices are fair enough. The pizza is fantastic. They really are the king of wings & pizza. 🙂

I live in hoboken. I”ve ordered several times at King of Wings. The service there was excellent. The food was delivered in a timely fashion, the pizza was fantastic, the wings were very nicely cooked an blended well, I’ve had many occasions where I’ve had friends over for games and everyone has left satisfied with the food. Every item on the menu seems to be irresistable; the burgers, fries, dinners, side dishes are awesome. For such great food, i couldn’t believe the fair prices given. I will highly recommend king of wings for everyone, especially, for the football season. It’s great to know that we have such a nicely organized place so close to town. My opinion on any bad reviews for this store couldn’t be true!!! U must try for yourself and give it your final say. 😉

I have trouble trusting anything so close to Squeeze…and the place itself looks a little iffy. Still, most of these reviews seem pretty decent so I figure we’ll give it a try.

We alternate between Casual Thai and Hi-So Thai, and it’s a tough call. They’re both very good. We’ve also eaten at Hi-So and the people are great. There’s almost never anyone there, but the location is kind of a pain to get to because parking is usually far away and it’s sort of an insane intersection.

Still though, interesting place to review and not one I thought I’d see on here.

And the pizza looks very cheesy, which is always a huge plus.
