Jimmy Farina says farewell to BOE

4/16/2010:

Farina retires after 36 years on Hoboken Board of Ed

If you were unable to attend this past week’s BOE meeting, James ““Jimmy” J. Farina retired from the Board after serving for 36 years on April 13, 2010.

During those years he was the elected NINE times and was President and Vice President of the BOE. He also was the Chairman of Athletics, in which “Jimmy” pioneered the efforts to rebuild the Hoboken High School Stadium making it the premier high school sports facility in the country.

Here are some photos of this past Tuesday’s BOE meeting. One of the Board Members Carmelo Garcia who sits next to Farina presented him a proclamation from Assemblyman Ruben Ramos and Senator Brian Stack to honor him for his “unparalleled service” and a “history of leadership.”

Thanks Jerry for the submission!

“High School Stadium making it the premier high school sports facility in the country.”

Clearly you have never been to a Texas high school…

Texas, you don’t have to go that far any pop warner field in monmouth or ocean cty. would put that field to shame. But it is 1000% better then it was when I played there.

In response to Redstorm who said:

I loved when this guy dropped an “ain’t” at the school board meetings. He served for 36 years. That means he was part of every bad decision that resulted in the catastrofuck that we have today.

Really, Who ever thinks Hoboken has the premier high school sports facility in the country, hasn’t been out of Hudson county in the last 20 years. What a joke!
