Adopt Jax!

4/17/2010:

Hoboken resident Laura Lenoci is a big supporter of the Liberty Humane Society – and more importantly, takes pride in finding homes for poor, sad dogs that were previously neglected and unwanted (and exactly how I got Hoboken411 Mascot Oscar!).

Take a look at this week’s dog for adoption:

You can relax with Jax!

“This is Jax. He’s 8 months old. Jax came to me from Jersey City. His owner didn’t have enough time for a puppy. He lived with small children and loves them. He is very obedient, loyal, gentle and a huge mush. He is a dog with a huge personality. He loves bones and will play fetch with you for hours. Jax is crate trained, knows basic commands and is 100% potty trained. He’s also very handsome. As I walk Jax around Hoboken with his “adopt me” vest lots of people stop me to pet him. He just has that kind of sweet face. Jax is very beta. Jax would be happiest with a family, living with another dog or with someone who works from home. He is crate trained and is currently getting utd on shots/neutered. Jax is very easy to meet and easier to fall in love with.

Please call or email me. Laura

Biting through doors? Is he related to Jaws?

I am looking to adopt a rescue dog, but it will never be a dog that can bite through doors. Who knows what abuse that dog has taken? And considering the kind of person who buys and then abandons a pit bull (young, stupid men living with their parents) I’d have to worry about the background of any pit from this area.

Pit bulls have become like a virus, if you go to adoption shelters in this area you will find mostly pit bulls. If you go to the Liberty site and take a look, they have 28 dogs for adoption, wanna take a guess how many are pit bulls or put bull mixes? 25 of 28 are Pit Bull/mixes. If it weren’t completely expected, it would be unbelievable.

(end rant)

Good luck with your adoption search

I spoke in a bit of hyperbole, but how about this instead, and I will be more physiologically correct for you:

“I am looking to adopt a rescue dog, but it will never be a dog that can bite through bone”

Is that better for ya? I wouldn’t want to impune the good name of these fine beasts and their very responsible owners.
