Hoboken Week in Review 4/11/2010
Hoboken411 turns FOUR today!
Yep – today, 4/11/2010 marks Hoboken411’s fourth birthday! Not a big fan of pomp and circumstance or lavish promotional events – but I’m just amazed at how much time has flown by since 2006. And I’m happy to have been a rock-solid media outlet for the Hoboken residents for all these years. Got some fun stuff coming the next few weeks – but that’s about it! Back to work.
What made the most noteworthy entries for the week ending Sunday, April 11, 2010?
The battle of the food trucks in Hoboken seems to have reach it’s boiling point. The Taco Truck and Cinnamon Snail customers are not too happy about it.
City Council members got verbally slapped by the very members of the public they were looking to silence with their ridiculous idea to limit resident participation at meetings.
A handful of roads are getting resurfaced this month. Keep an eye on them to ensure they do a good job!
You have exactly ONE chance to see all twelve Board of Education candidates speak tomorrow. Who will you vote for?
This week’s 41 agenda item council meeting lasted till 12:00am – which is early for them!
- HOBOKEN IDLE!
Some residents don’t like the fact that Hoboken EMS leaves some vehicles running occasionally.
A HUGE week of exclusive Hoboken business updates!
- Coming Soon: Bin 14 owner Anthony Pino is opening the West End Bar in the Skyclub; Maoz Vegetarian Falafel coming to Washington Street!
- Now Open: You Lucky Dog, a new doggie store focused on higher end items opened up this weekend on Washington Street.
- Updated: Enterprise Rent a Car moves downtown; PromptMD Urgent Care celebrates their first birthday; J&D Provisions gets new items and still has great pizza; an update for the Ted & Jo’s location – supposedly becoming “Johnny Pepperoni” pizza place; and KoKo FitClub has a grand opening giveaway yesterday…
- Doomed: NJ Golfman scores a quadruple bogey and Purple Diamondz just seems closed each and every day.

Inspirational Quote of the Week:
“The only lifelong, reliable motivations are those that come from within, and one of the strongest of those is the joy and pride that grow from knowing that you’ve just done something as well as you can do it.”– Lloyd Dobens
