Hoboken allergy season!

4/6/2010:

[Continuing the ORIGINAL Hoboken411 “Photo of the Day” series…]

How is allergy season in Hoboken?

I’ve mentioned this a few times before – but I’m blessed with practically no allergies (except one – corporate office buildings). However, I can definitely smell a strong odor of pollen in the air around Hoboken the past couple days. And after speaking with a couple friends – it seems that allergy season has ramped up quite a bit.

Do you suffer from seasonal allergies? If so – how do you manage? And what advice (drug tips, environmental control, etc.) can you share with other Hobokenites?

PS – if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive – send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description – if desired!!

Nice shot of the flowering trees on First Street! See them bloom while you can.

A spray inhaler of Ocean, or any generic house brand saline spray from CVS, etc., can do wonders for allergies, stuffiness, and sinus headaches. An added plus – for the next 15-20 minutes, it smells like you’re at the shore.

Better than a netti pot. Similar idea though. Flush your sinuses with saline. I know, it’s gross, but it’s made a huge difference for me. Wish I had known about this years ago. Even on Zyrtec I can have problems this time of year.

Good for colds and congestion too. My recovery time is better ever since I got one. If I have a sore throat, or feel like a head cold is coming on, usually this helps stop it. You can find them at CVS.
