Hoboken resident Danielle Puro has an autistic daughter named Page.
Like many parents, because her daughter was diagnosed with Autism in 2009 – it presents many problems taking them to public places where silence is expected – especially movie theaters (like regular people with their cell phones wasn’t enough!)
So in cooperation with Clearview Cinemas (14th and Grand Streets) – there will be a special one hour showing of the TV show Here Comes Peter Cottontail this Saturday, March 13th at 10am. The show is “sensory friendly,” meaning that not only will the lights be on, and the sound turned lower – not one single person in the theater will be asked to leave for causing a disturbance. This gives parents and children an opportunity to enjoy the big screen once and for all.
This is a great event for the area residents to share with their children – and anything you can do to cover the costs (which are borne by Danielle) please feel free to contact her at 201-669-5179 to lend a helping hand. It’s not easy – both emotionally and socially – to raise a child with Autism, so any community help would go a long way.
Enjoy the show on a super-duper rainy Saturday!
