I only eat at Robongi. Food is the best, atmosphere is the best and the service is the best. I eat there once maybe even twice a week. BYOB is the way to go brothers and sisters!

I don’t care enough to bother calling them, but since the downtown owner is a dining companion of yours, you should ask why the menu is exactly the same then and both locations are on it if they are entirely different entities.

The menu is exactly the same at both locations, and if you read the menu it has both locations advertised on the front cover, so they must be affiliated in some way.

Call either up and ask them – they will tell you, different owners, different entities. Either way, my comments only pertain to the uptown location, and I stand by them word-for-word. Any places that tells you “tough luck” after they take 75 minutes to deliver food 4 blocks, food that was a disgusting mess and missing 35% of the order, is not a business that deserves any type of patronage. And its really unfortunate b/c they have good food, a great atomsphere and a great location. I’d probably eat there once a week if they weren’t so rude!

Contrary to the thoughts of many (if not all) the “Sushi House” downtown is NOT affiliated with the “Sushi House” uptown. Two completely different corporations with two different owners. I know this because not only did I do some actual resarch into it, but I also had dinner with the gentleman that owns the downtown establishment. And another thing “NBM3,” I would not waste my time to write a long critique of a business if I did not believe every word. I have many friends that are small business owners – including my mother – and would not tarnish the reputation simply out of malice or ill will. Sushi House uptown is a business in a highly competitive market; they do not treat their customers properly and are completely clueless when it comes to take-out & delivery. But you don’t have to follow my opinion, order from them a few times and you will pay the penalty like the rest of us. Good luck!

^^ Pretty harsh words considering your ONE bad experience should make all of us not patronize an established business with TWO locations in town.

I agree that customer service at Sushi House Uptown is miserable, eating in or delivered. We moved into town about 8 months ago and prior to our move we would visit Hoboken to check on construction and get familiar with the city. Since we were uptown, we had lunch there a number of times, decent sushi, very reasonable prices, but poor service even when we were the only customers in the restaurant, but nothing outrageous, so we dealt with it. Once we moved we began ordering in, very difficult to get our order understood over the phone, impossible to get them to deliver to the correct door of our building and it always took a minimum of 45 min. to get the food to us, a few blocks away. We decided we’d try Robongi and can’t imagine why’d we’d ever patronize Sushi House again. Better food, vastly better and pleasant service, both on site and delivered, and they’re at our door about 20 minutes after we call. We do miss SH brown rice and their tastier miso soup, but we won’t be bothering with them again.
