The best eggplant parmigiana I have EVER had. It’s usually on the weekdays special menu.

went here on saturday for the first time for some yummy treats to bring to my parents. The service was horrifically slow however the bread, cheeses, and cold cuts were to die for. Worth the wait.. I will return and hopefully will allow myself a little more time.

This is probably the only authentic italian grocery in Hoboken. The owners are 3 brothers from Puglia (Molfetta or Altamura) and they have stuff that I can only find back in Italy, like the Bauli croissants, tonno palmera, limoncello, olive alla calce, ricotta fresca, acqua Ferrarelle, that most of Americans have never seen. The cold cuts are great, the eggplant parmigiana is impressive and the service is very good. they may seem slow, but they cut everything in front of the customer.
To see how authentic it is, go in on sunday morning. You’ll hear a lot of italian.

I guess it’s the grandpa but he has to be the rudest old man I’ve ever run into. He treats you like it’s a real crime that you actually walked in to buy something. He practically throws the bread at you when you buy it. Time for him to retire! There are lots of places to hear Italian on a daily basis in the 4th ward but this won’t be one I frequent.

In light of the new rules, I am posing here that this place has the best coffee I have EVER had. I can’t believe I am letting the secret out, but I stopped here one morning after kickboxing and it absolutely blew me away. I am not picky about anything, I will drink shitty coffee if it’s the only thing available. But if you live around here, you should try it sometime!

I bought capicolla, american cheese and ham from these guys. Everything was so fresh. They are my new “go to” place. Smells like Nana’s kitchen (even better maybe) in there.

In response to rachelezoe who said:
Well considering I live across the street and frequent the place quite a bit I can confirm they definitely take their time but definitely not nasty….old school for sure but not nasty..

The entire European continent is like that. When I go back home I have to remind myself where I am otherwise I would never get anywhere. Don’t take it personal
