Buddy the new NJ Boss?
Funny photo coincidence today! Both myself and The Cartel movie creator Bob Bowdon both noticed the ridiculous lines outside The Cake Boss’ headquarters (Carlos City Hall Bake Shop) today.
Bob suggested the title “Meet the New Boss!” – referencing the Cake Bosses challenge to Bruce Springsteen and Tony Soprano as the best known New Jersey “Boss.”

Speaking of Hoboken “bosses,” maybe we’re on to something here? With City Hall “officials” taking off weeks from their elected taxpayer funded positions, canceling important meetings, and pretty much ignoring their important legislative duties and an urgent fiscal crisis while they vacation to their second homes out of state.
Perhaps Buddy Valestro should run for Mayor (Hoboken “Boss”) in 2013? At least he can demonstrate what it’s like to work hard!

People were lined up today around the corner once again, and the wind was kicking up around 40 mph. Saw a bunch of old ladies and their kids in the alley out back taking pics of Buddy’s truck and the back entrance. One kid was acting as if they were going out the back door for a pic. It is a little too much. They were filming yesterday so i guess word is out so everyone stands in line in hopes of getting their fat ass on tv?

Ugh.
I hope these asinine folks remain all clustered up right by Carlo’s, freezing their asses off everyday of the week. This frees up sidewalk space, naturally. But, more importantly, I can go to Giorgio’s whenever I want– no lines, no fuss, no idiots.

411 reader “how you doin’” sent in a couple pics of the madhouse today! (oh and a limo just crashed into a truck in front of the bakery – a Hoboken Carnival for sure!)
“Line into carlo’s bakery swings around corner. The line is 4 feet from street. Verizon, Hoboken healthcare and emmanuels are blocked off by people. While bake shop is raking in cash, neighboring businesses are being effected by this abnormal line.”
“Tons of 12 year olds stalk the cake boss’s nephew out back in the alley. Its a circus here today. Sidwalk is cluttered like crazy.”
