Meet the New Boss!

12/28/2009:

Buddy the new NJ Boss?

Funny photo coincidence today! Both myself and The Cartel movie creator Bob Bowdon both noticed the ridiculous lines outside The Cake Boss’ headquarters (Carlos City Hall Bake Shop) today.

Bob suggested the title “Meet the New Boss!” – referencing the Cake Bosses challenge to Bruce Springsteen and Tony Soprano as the best known New Jersey “Boss.”

Who most deserves the official title: NJ's "Boss?"

Buddy for Hoboken Mayor?

Speaking of Hoboken “bosses,” maybe we’re on to something here? With City Hall “officials” taking off weeks from their elected taxpayer funded positions, canceling important meetings, and pretty much ignoring their important legislative duties and an urgent fiscal crisis while they vacation to their second homes out of state.

Perhaps Buddy Valestro should run for Mayor (Hoboken “Boss”) in 2013? At least he can demonstrate what it’s like to work hard!

I don’t get this. I like the show and have been a customer since they were located next to Fiore’s, but a line going around the corner? My brother(never knew there was a show) recently came back to Hoboken and wanted some baked goods to bring back to my mother, was shocked by the wait and the idiots with cameras. Personaly I prefer Georgio’s on 11th.

I also prefer Georgio’s on 11th. If you want an authentic cannoli, Georgio’s is the place to go.

No, he’s running with the Birthday Party. I thought he was on a roll but I learned that all his cake boxes come with strings attached. Even his customers really take the cake.

No offense because I like Carlo’s pastries but the show isn’t all that great. Its obviously (poorly) staged and theres really no drama or entertainment value. I wish someone would come & film me making spreadsheets all day.

Well good for him, but as with the bars in town, he needs to do something about the crowd which is usually pleasant, but sure as hell don’t know how to keep the sidewalk clear for other people trying to go about their everyday business.

Also…I’ve heard that these crowds pick up their sweets and leave town, no other businesses are getting any “halo effect.”
