Hoboken Christmas Mile

12/25/2009:
Merry Christmas once again, Hoboken!
Nothing like a casual relaxing and quiet day in the Mile Square. Not doing much of anything today, and figured I’d make my exactly one-mile walk with the 411 Mascot Oscar into a mini update here! Why the heck not?
Hoboken: One mile, a dog, a camera and some free time
As usual, I stopped at Oscar’s favorite dumping ground – Elysian Park. Poor pooch not feeling to well today, and it’s probably my fault for giving him lots of real turkey pieces yesterday. I’ll hydrate him and he should be back to normal soon. But while drinking my delicious Starbucks Christmas Blend, I noticed the design on the cup. “I wish every day was a Holiday.” Would you want that? If they were as quiet as Hoboken was today, I’m all for it – but if it involved holiday traffic and pressure – no thanks!

I wonder when all the holiday decorations are coming down? The day after New Years?

Nice to see the holiday flair on the Hoboken Fire Department Trucks as they were responding to a call on Washington Street.

Noticed that the sad missing glove from the other day has now been transferred to the trash bin at 1010 Washington. Such a nice glove. Maybe I should go back and take it? Perhaps there’s a female amputee that might want one?

Oh this was great – I spotted Santa Claus in the flesh! Didn’t think he’d have this kind of little dog!

Lastly – this was really cute. Do you ever actually read the writing inside a Hallmark Card? When I got back home, I decided to read the Christmas card one of my BROTHERS gave me. I suppose he didn’t read it either – take a look inside! I’m sure it was an honest oversight (unless he had a medical procedure he hasn’t told us about yet?)

Hope your day is filled with love and joy, everyone!

I just got back in town. It’s nice and quiet outside. Too bad I get inside, the chick upstairs still hasn’t figured out where to put her furniture (been going on for five years). Clapton is easing my nerves.

Dudette,
You have no idea. This chick is OCD nuts. She’ll have people over and it doesn’t matter what time they leave (sometimes after 1am) the vacuume cleaner comes out. And if that’s not obnoxious enough for you, she’ll get up before 5am and vacuume some more. Did she miss something last night? Oh and , it’s normally done in cowboy boots. By default, she’s now president of the condo association.
BTW your business must be doing pretty crappy to be able to post so often at all times of the day. Am I wrong?

Good observation. Midtown is all over this site, day and nite.
Do you work ?
Anyway, I passed the Church Towers complex..Lots of Xmas lites on many windows..My take is many must be BNR’s and have clear heads, for the most part..Much of Hoboken doesn’t show any Holiday mood, i.e.lites, decorations, etc…..
Hope my grammar and verbage is ok for Midtown..LOL

My neighbor builds stuff in his apartment. He actually freakin’ saws wood indoors and out, hammers and vacuums at 3:00 AM. He once sawed some wood right in front of our window. If we didn’t love him…
On the bright side, he plays one of his many guitars late at night sometimes, and it sounds really good!

I know Ziggy as well. He’s a sweetheart. H411: Ziggy’s dog’s name is Lulu. That’s such a great shot of them. Lulu is such a sweet little dog.

I didn’t catch that at first. I had to go back and re-read it. You’re right that is hysterical. H411:I guess your brother overlooked that as well.
