Hoboken Breakfast Nuggets – 12/18/2009

12/18/2009:

Nothing like today’s “snowy nuggets” special, with a side of Climategate and Hoboken Hypocrisy!

Hoboken Snowy Breakfast Nuggets

Keep an eye on the weather this weekend!

Despite the chance of over-hyping, nothing still gets me more excited than prospects of a nice winter storm! As of this writing, there’s a massive storm headed up the coast. Along with the brutally cold temperatures, it all depends on how much moisture actually reaches our area. Last I saw were were in the 2″-4″ then 5″-10″ forecast range for Saturday and Sunday – but that is subject to changeand has changed many times in the last 24 hours (much more or hardly any at all). Stay Tuned!

Still believe in Global Warming? C’mon, really?

The “world” is still trying to squeeze the whole global warming lie for every penny it’s worth. Emails being leaked, records shredded, fossil fuel burning hypocrites, and now even the entire country of Russia coming out to expose the “Climategate” scandal. Yet, the ridiculous world leaders (and terrorists) want a big global carbon tax, that will only hurt guess who… The United States. Way to go tool-bags!!

Anyway, here’s Al Gore making himself look even more stupid on CNN:

Speaking of hypocrisy…

For the one tenth of one percent of the Hoboken population that watched this week’s City Council Meeting streaming live video to the very end, might have caught the hypocrisy going on at city hall. At one point during the meeting, council members shrugged their shoulders when asked why a critical term was removed from the Hoboken Housing Authority security contract (net payment terms, you know, like the ones on your credit card bill?) and offered not one single logical explanation. However, later in the meeting, angry councilman at large Ravi Bhalla terrorized, disrespected and talked down to poor outgoing Corporation Counsel Steve Kleinman demanding a date for him to get case information he had no control over! It was apparent that Bhalla had to look like a tough guy after being made to look stupid at other points in the meeting. The passive aggressive nature of some members of the current administration is a very bad example for the city. Such a shame.

That’s it – have a great day and a (hopefully) snowy weekend!

Hypocrisy/Acrimony: Kleinman had a discussion earier in the day regarding the disposition of outstanding legal cases. Leaving out the ‘spirited exchange’ between two attorneys, the real issue here is the acrimony towards city employees and speedy discipline when administrative charges are warranted. The past harsh treatment of employees resulted in substantial awards to Lenz, Serrano and DeStefano. On the other hand, the administrative hearings for the SWAT incident is still plodding with great costs for the judge hearing officer, and two attorneys, one acting as prosecutor and the other being the investigator. It has been reported that two recent decisons went in the employees favor. In brief, it appears that the City needs more human resource type direction and the council should be provided with monthly updates from it’s corpration counsel. Hopefully, the new administration with the assistance of our de-faco BA, Judy Tripodi will take proper action to operate the city in a more professional manner. Yes, some of this has happened on Judy’s watch.
