Ever hear of the “Hoboken Games?”

12/14/2009:

In today’s true Retro post – Hoboken411 reader Al once again submits a very cool image of Hoboken’s past.

Anyone around for the 1938 Hoboken Games?

“I have attached a photo scan of a medal I have both front and back. It was awarded to the winner of the 1/4 mile run in 1938 at the Hoboken games. I don’t know anything at all about athletic events held in Hoboken back then. Perhaps one of your readers might have more information?”

Even if you were only 10 years old back then – you’d be in your 80’s now. Any old-timers out there?

Hey, there’s my freakin’ medal! What gives? I think I dropped it in the Holiday Inn on Grand Street a while back.
