I bet you guys didn’t know that Luca Brasi on first was also owned by Pete, it became too much for him to manage both so he sold it.

Yesterday I took advice offered on this thread. What a great sandwich!

Silenzioso already! Do you want the world in on one of Hoboken’s last remaining treasures? Generous, delicious, fresh food and a wonderful small family owned business – they couldn’t be nicer people and I have to share my sandwich – even the half – because it is HUGE. And yes, THE best mutz, but Shhh…

When i get up to hoboken pete’s is one of my prime places to stop. I personally know the fiores crew and don’t want to hurt their feelings but pete’s mutz is world class. My father lived across from pete’s and he had bad arthritis and when it acted up pete delivered dinners to him and 1/2 of the time he didn’t want to be paid. It is very rare to find a gentleman like pete.

Gentleman – exactly. And that’s what really adds to an already substantial edge over the local shops: Pete’s a class act. Friendly, ready with suggestions. I like that. Feels more like a neighborhood when store owners are pleasant, treating customers like welcome guests rather than just another mouth to feed.
