Readerpix: 18-wheeler reads GPS wrong!
12/9/2009:
Hoboken411 reader Brett sent in this odd picture of a delivery truck on the waterfront walkway yesterday in Hoboken!
Hoboken411 reader photo of the day – 12/9/2009
“Here’s something you don’t see everyday… this 18 wheeler made a wrong turn onto the pedestrian walkway instead of Sinatra drive. He drove all the way to third st, honking at people to move and destroying tree branches. Then realized he was stuck and had to reverse all the back to Newark st to get out breaking even more trees in his way.
Guess he read his GPS wrong!“
[Stay tuned for the next Readerpix entry! - Note: one reader's photo(s) will be featured from time to time. Unless your photo is time-sensitive - it will be published in the order it was received! Additional note: Your pictures will have a better chance of being published if they're in "landscape" mode, as opposed to the taller "portrait" modes... ]

Is it a ticketable offense to think you are riding a bike and not driving a box truck? I knew those bike symbols painted on the path were just confusing people.

DiCarlo Food Distributors truck #516.
Someone at City Hall should find out how much damage this asshole did and send them a bill for it.

A steering committee is being formed by the town to decide what to do about this incident.

He’s lucky the waterfront walkway didn’t collapse under the weight of the truck.

Well when it does inevitably collapse in a few years, they can blame it on this sad sack.

The municipal trucks are on here daily. If we are completely honest, the entry to these two venues (Sinatra & the bike path) are not that clearly designated as to which is which, and for a first timer, it is relatively easy to make a mistake. It should have been obvious to this truck driver within a few hundred feet to turn back, but we all know what the driver was going through – basically panic, and relying on “I can’t be the first person this happened to, there must be a way out”. I like to have my fun and turn a phrase, but perchance the truck driver isn’t the only piece of the problem here. It is easy to poke fun but often it is disingenuous and self-serving to do so.
