Car Accident: 2nd & Willow
08
December
12/8/2009:
Probably because of blocked intersections…
Numerous residents saw the car accident at 2nd and Willow moments ago, nervous that there were injuries, people trapped in their cars – but turned out not as bad as originally thought, just pretty bad damage.
In other “po-po” news happening this minute, apparently 10 cars were vandalized in the area near 601 Harrison street. All scraped with keys, apparently.
And lastly, on 5th and Washington, a man is “jimmying” a car, and a resident phoned police believing it may be a burglary in progress, but it just was an over-cautious caller.
You can listen to the Hoboken411 Live Police and Fire Action Channel for more local “Action!”…

This is DEFINITELY one of the worst intersections in town! Cars are always parked way too close to the intersection on the north side Willow. HPA (Hoboken Parking Authority) should cite this as a high risk intersection and ticket as much as possible, day and night…and if that or nothing else works…possibly a traffic light there that would give westbound traffic on 2nd a short green light.
On a related note…does HPA not have people out ticketing at certain times, like after -PM or certain weekend hours?? They should be 24/7. At midnight on a Friday when drunk people are walking around, it’s not easy to see them crossing when your vision is being blocked by a car 2 feet from the crosswalk.
