My wife and I ate here tonight. It was very clean, bright and welcoming. We had the Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikki Masala. We were not impressed at all. They gave a good amount of rice, but the chicken and lamb was seriously lacking. The taste was ok, but it was not authentic indian food and I would prefer Karma Kafe moving forward. If you dine in, the food is served on plastic plates that make you feel you are at a your nephew's high school graduation party.

Not sure if they are going to make it and if I was a betting man, I would say they have a date with the "doomed" list.

Re: "tortilla", their menu lists paratha, not naan:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paratha
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naan

After two visits, I've found the paratha in the rolls to be hit-or-miss in the ghee/butter department. More often than not, they came across more like dry and lighter roti - definitely less greasy than the Biriyani Cart at 46th in midtown and Kati Roll in Greenwich Village. Perhaps this is a plus for the health-conscious, but I feel like I'm missing out on some tasty caloric possibilities.

In response to Marklats who said:

I went here the other night and ordered the Chicken Tika Masala platter. I have to say I was disappointed with my experience and wouldn't go back. The pieces of chicken were small and I don't think you get enough chicken for the price. The sauce was a little too creamy. The bread is more of a tortilla than naan. One funny thing is that the front door does not automatically close so everyone that walked in had to turn around and walk back to close the front door. If they correct these things the concept could work well in Hoboken. They need to follow the lead of Cafe Spice in Grand Central...that's a great business model.

Had dinner here on Friday and lunch here today and absolutely love the food. I will now be a "regular" here. The Lamb Rogan Josh and the Samosa Chaat were delicious! I felt the Chicken Tikka Masala was right on - perfect. The decor was warm and inviting, the place was clean, the prices are reasonable (especially from what I've seen around Hoboken) and the staff was friendly - what more could I ask for. Will continue to recommend to my friends.

I just got take out here for dinner tonight. Choose the Chicken Tiki Masala, because that's what I was craving and I noticed that it was much cheaper at Kati than at Karma. It wasn't the greatest. Was creamier and less tomatoey than what I have had at other places. Think I'll probably go back and try the kati rolls though.

I went for lunch today and had the aloo masala kati roll. It was quick and tasty. A good first impression, I will go back again.

It was alright, but I wasn't very impressed. It's cheaper than Karma Kafe, but tasted similar to the packaged Indian food you can buy at Target.
