Hoboken Parking Hypocrisy!

12/2/2009 Update:
What open government?
Again, four emails sent to City Hall – with no official response or acknowledgment. Will keep sending and reminding until a response is received.
11/20/2009:
The number of complaints received by Hoboken411 regarding parking in Hoboken has skyrocketed immensely in the past few weeks!
They want your money to fill budget shortfalls!
I have so many photos from angry residents, I don’t even have the time to process them all. So I took the most recent gallery of a completely arbitrary violation. It’s apparent that the city is WAY short money, and have now enacted a citywide “pickpocketing” of their own residents. An uptown resident was so upset at getting this ticket – it begs the question: “What in God’s name are these so-called white-lines for?”
I’ve sent an email to the Parking Czar Ian Sacs for an OFFICIAL EXPLANATION to finally set the story straight. Since Hoboken411 gets over 2 million pageviews per month – the city would be doing a disservice to the residents if they do not respond in a timely manner. But then again, they only pander to those who kiss you know what!
“I was at the White Line! Right at it. $54.00 for what? So now I am supposed to take off a day of work to argue an inch with the judge?”
But commit the SAME violations!
This ought to piss you off even more. Here’s a gallery of a couple city vehicles – even MORE in violation of the ambiguous parking laws! No tickets, no regard, no enforcement. HPU employees walked by these two vehicles without issuing a summons! What gives, city-friggin-hall?
We’ll see what the city has to say soon enough!

Since typical parallel parking spaces are stripped for a stall length of of 23′, striping would cause a loss of at least 10 spaces per block.

I actually sent an angry email to HPU last week, about an unfair ticket…got a reply back from Ian himself. Didn’t really offer any help, though.
