Sidewalk Shotz: Rusty old bike

Continuing this week’s “Sidewalk Shotz” series of sights spotted while traversing our fair city…
Why is this bike here?
Spotted this rusty shell of a old retro bicycle along Bloomfield Street in Midtown yesterday. Looks really beat up. Why would someone leave this bike chained to the fence? As a landmark?
“I live three doors down from the ugly piece of crap bike.”

One might say that is Zimmers bike that was reported stolen from city hall, however we all know that was a lie and a media stunt. The sympathy suckers believed poor little dawn.

Thank you all for appreciating an old classic. This is my 1961 Murray Missile. We’re the same age! Someone with obvious excellent taste ran off with the front tire and rim. My only regret is that I didn’t have a cinderblock to put under the missing tire. You’ll now find the tire replaced with a rim worthy of a Murray Missile. Did you notice it has a built in headlight? It works!!

This is one of my favorite parts of the tour. Please say hello to our residents, Pedro and his wife, Inez. Inez is holding a clay pot that she seems very proud of. She carefully detailed it with paint and glaze.
And Pedro is working on an “adobe.” Can you say that with me? Adobe.
We are now in the kitchen of the Alamo women. Here they are preparing
culinary delights of the Southwest. Do I hear someone’s stomach growling?
The mainstay of the Alamo diet is corn. Corn can be prepared many ways.
It can be boiled, shucked, creamed…or in this case dried. Corn can also be used to make…tortillas.
Do we have any Mexican-Americans with us today?
There are thousands and thousands of uses for corn…all of which I will
tell you about right now.
