Veterans Day 2009
A day of reflection and thanks
Take a moment to pray for and thank everyone that has volunteered their time and risked their lives to defend the freedom of our Country!
So what’s shut down for today’s Federal Holiday? From what I know – City Hall, Banks, regular Postal Service delivery, parking meters, schools and the library.
- The city will be holding a Veteran’s Day Memorial Service and plaque dedication at Pier A Park (where many soldiers left during World War I) starting at 10:30am. Many Veterans along with various Hudson County politicians will be on hand for the commemoration.
- For those that cannot make it, be sure to stop by our World War II Memorial at Sinatra Drive & 4th (where the 2008 Ceremony was held) – and the Vietnam War Memorial, also over at Pier A Park.
- Lastly, you can attend the Veterans Day Town Meeting and movie screening over at the Hoboken High School at 7pm tonight (800 Clinton St.)
