Commercialism at work
In case you were wondering why the waterfront was shut down from 3rd and Sinatra northward – Nissan wanted to use Hoboken’s beautiful river side road to film a new commercial for the Altima line of cars. The Westside Group was on hand taking care of the technical work.
Wonder how much they have to pay to inconvenience a mile square town with 45,000+ residents?

I love those license plates they use in the tv commercials that are the same color as the car.

I guess they’ll edit out the parts when they pass the broken waterfront walkway.

Even if it was only $5, it’s revenue. Relax.

Heard after the filming our newly elected major was heard saying, “We could have been paid for this?” Seems typical – first let the 4M grant for flooding go bye-bye, now, plead further ignorance – keep up the solid work Dawn!

Any added revenue is much needed, so I hope we were paid for this.
To that point,we should sell sponsorship opportunities to corporations, and have the mayor, council and all city workers where uniforms with the company name on them. Wouldn’t it be nice to see the council meeting sponsored by unisom or the mayor wearing a viagra decal at the state of the city address? Town vehicles, buildings, think of the possibilities!

Yes. City Hall could be re-named pending a sponsorship deal with Ringling Bros.
