Hoboken Photo of the Day – 10/28/2009
Hadn’t been down to Hudson Tavern (14th and Hudson) in quite a while, and had a chance to have a quick bite recently. I have to say, the quality of the food seems to have improved since my last visit. Have you eaten there lately?
Here’s an example of a girl devouring her hamburger like a cave-woman.
PS – if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive – send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description – if desired!!

I agree. The food is good in a nice atmosphere but the prices are steep. It costs $7.50 to add shrimp to a ceasar salad, when most places will add $5 or $6. Entrees are all over $20. Bar prices are about average for the neighborhood, though. I still miss Ted and Jo’s.

Don’t like the burger here. I prefer fresh not frozen.

Cool. I eat a little daintier than that… to keep any pickles or tomatoes from sliding off a cheeseburger. Have to try Hudson Tavern…

Frozen burgers at HT? Well, the burger i had was absolutely mouth-watering. At least it’s high-quality meat.

Good food at Hudson Tavern. Also great bartenders and good service. The owner is also very friendly with customers. Great Hoboken joint!

If you prefer fresh not frozen. I do as well. You should try the burger at Helmer’s. It is 12oz. of fresh chopmeat. It comes on a hardroll with onions, bacon and cheese included. It also has lettuce, tomato, pickle, coleslaw and fries also included. Helmer’s is the only place in town. That I will eat a burger.

Hudson Tavern is the best! We just hosted a party there for 60 people – food and service were amazing and our guests all had a great time.

did you formerly work in the kitchen there? that’s quite a comment to make with nothing to back it up. i’ve had the buger about 3-4 times and thought it was very fresh tasting.

I love Hudson Tavern.
But their burger seems to have grown. When they first opened, I could almost eat a whole burger. Now, one burger has enough meat for 3 meals. (And I don’t think my appetite has changed.) I’d be totally fine with downsizing the burger somewhat, especially so that the middle wouldn’t be quite so pink.
