At around 1:10am – HFD mentioned fire seems to have been knocked down, and one elderly woman was complaining of chest pains, possible smoke inhalation… unsure of her current status or if she was taken to a hospital yet or not.
Of course, the FD will have to ensure that there is no fire creep in the walls, etc…

I hope the store did not suffer too much damage? I think this is the store that is owned by the family of a customer of mine. Keeping my fingers crossed that the damage is minimal regardless of who owns it.

FYI – I forgot to mention that it was two Hoboken Police officers that discovered the fire, and were first on scene. They notified the HFD, and ran into the smoke-filled building and helped evacuate residents before they showed up.
So good job to BOTH the HFD and HPD – keeping our residents safe.
Oh – and a thanks to the special 411 reader for snapping the pics for me as well!

Hey, we have a total loss at our business. Currently we are working on getting everything in order for the reopening of our store..According to insurance officials and certain building managers we spoke to its going to be a couple of months before we are up and running. We want to thank everyone for their continued support and for their kind words. WE WILL BE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER. If you do have any questions please feel free to ask.. Thank you

we really don’t have a time line for a reopen date. right now its all up to the insurance company. We want to open asap.. the reason why its going to take more time is only because the whole store has to be redone. The walls, ceilings, floors, new everything. Just too much smoke damage. We believe the fire was caused through a electrical short.
