Hoboken Photo of the Day – 10/26/2009

Here’s a giant sign / billboard constructed for Mayoral candidate Kim Glatt over on the southeast corner of 7th and Washington Street, or as one Hoboken411 reader asked, “The next victim for the Mad Hoboken Political Sign Ripper?”

I believe that political signs are exempt from the zoning requirements.

According to zoning a sign may not exceed 10% of your front space, this is like 40 percent, and its a residential spot not commercial so the sign should not even be there. I know she is a judge and she is local but HELLO this is a town known for scandals and shaving corners because my duck is bigger than your duck. That sign should be removed and she should be issued a summons, it violates Hoboken law. I have a tag sale and post a sign to a pole and i get a ticket in the mail and she and all these other candidates break the law to get ahead and nobody issues them tickets. In NYC Bill Thompson just racked up 100k in fines and a few years ago so did Bloomberg. If you are going to have a law, enforce it on everyone and stop the corruption like you are allowing to happen. For this sign alone, I am now not voting for Glatt!! If she is cutting corners now and getting away with it then it will happen again and this town does not need that
