Roberts sighting: 5th and Wash

10/22/2009:

Long Live Dave!

Considering former Mayor Dave Roberts made an appearance last night at the Clearview Cinemas – This might be a fun feature! “What’s Davey up to today?” Perhaps we can treat it like the mysterious bird sightings in Hoboken!

Hoboken411 reader Rebecca spotted Roberts hanging out near one of his properties at 5th and Wash, which is currently getting a long-overdue makeover.

Being Mayor of Hoboken has become the political equivalent of a terminal disease.

Former Mayor Robert’s should leave town and not let the door hit him in his A _ _ ! He deserves this comment for the highpoint of his long political career, his overspent ($11.2 million) illegal budget and leaving Hoboken in the financial mess that it is in. Of course he had help: the governing body (our city council) did not govern and control).

I don’t disagree, but why scapegoat Roberts? The city of Hoboken has been living beyond it’s means since the 80’s or even earlier… structural deficits, selling city assets to pay for operating expenses, etc.

If all involved in those misdeeds and all who got sweetheart deals at the taxpayers expenses left town too…. it would solve the parking problem once and for all!

They did not overspend the budget by $11.2 million and they did not throw their loyal worker under the bus. We who really got to know him…he did not have a kind word for many…his ego would not allow it…face it!

The guy on the bench with his head in his hands must have just received his tax bill.

I like this idea (random Roberts spottings): it’ll be like having our own Sasquatch.

I agree. Too bad nobody got the picture of Roberts hanging the Kimberly Glatt for Mayor sign in the window of his Hudson Street house. Thanks Mr. Roberts for letting us know who NOT to vote for!
