Water Main Break Jackson St.

10/8/2009:

Doh!

About half an hour ago, construction workers using a back-hoe damaged a water main near 320 Jackson Street. Apparently, this is causing basement flooding in area buildings – and one such flooded area is very precarious due to a high-voltage transformer in the room. PSE&G has been called to help out with the situation. We all know what water+high voltage can mean if left unattended.

HFD shut the main down while they await proper response. If you take Jackson Street home as part of your commute, please plan an alternate route!

Heard that Glatt brought water and Mason sent it. Zimmer gave support. All OK for the campaign. Pupie for the water pumps.

Be real, they all were there to Politic! It’s OK – It’s America. Mason was thoughtful with the water.

Tom Hanson, the sad fact of the matter is Dawn Zimmer is “so over” the fourth ward and it’s problems. For a year now (since she decided to run for Mayor) Dawn has been pandering directly to uptown voters. She knows there’s no way she can win the fourth ward again, so she’s moved on to build a base in the 5th ward.

As Acting Mayor, Zimmer has spent more time on 1600 Park than on the Southwest Park she was originally elected to fight for. This week she even tried to table a resolution reiterating the council’s support of the SW6 Concept Plan.

Zimmer had her new acting Community Development Director advocate delaying the resolution. When the sponsor (Beth Mason) said no, Zimmer had no choice but to vote yes.

Teeny, tiny town politics… so quaint yet so dysfunctional…

I just wanted to thank Kimberly Glatt for coming down to Jackson Street to help out. Her campaign shirts and posters really helped the people from the building that were without water. In all fairness, Dawn Zimmer came down to campaign as well, but without T-Shirts…

Genuine thanks to Beth Mason for actually sending many cases of water down to the scene even though she wasn’t there to politic. Too bad our 4th Ward Councilwoman/Mayor didn’t even notice the people in her own ward didn’t have water until someone told her Beth had people there actually helping.

Beth Mason: compassionate woman of action! In superhero-like fashion, she rushed to Shop Rite and bought as much water as her cart could carry…

Her vast experience shopping for groceries will be a real asset if she becomes mayor.
