Filippo’s Pizza – Doomed
Filippo’s Pizza: R.I.P. 2013
Fillipo’s Pizza on First St. is doomed and for rent. Residents are scrambling for replacements!
Sort of the what Google Reader users had to do when they announced the sunsetting of a loved product this week. Well, not exactly – but I know the feeling these people have!
Back when I ate pizza – I could recommend a couple places. Pizza Republic makes nice slices, Benny Tudino’s doesn’t skimp when you order pies, and King of Wings Pizza in Weehawken does a nice buffalo chicken pie.
What is your favorite in Hoboken?
Will Filippo’s Pizza ever rebound after Sandy flooded Hoboken?
A lot of people loved Filippo’s Pizza. It’s been over four months since Hurricane Sandy slammed Hoboken. You ever wonder if “Filippo’s on First” will ever make it back?
Hardly a sign of work at Filippo’s Pizza
Taking a look at the construction “progress” over at Filippo’s Pizza the other day – it doesn’t seem like much has happened, other than the gutting of the interior and small stack of sheet rock.
Although their website has a message posted only a week or two after the superstorm: “Filippo’s will be closed for renovations for about a month while we rebuild in the wake of the hurricane Sandy flooding. Please check back for an open date and come see us again.” (Message dated 11/8/12)
Anyone hear what might be going on with this neighborhood favorite? Or are they fed up with the problems in this area of town – and are calling it quits?
