It’s time again for another Hoboken Police Chief Meet and Greet – this time for residents living from 7th to 13th Streets, East of (and including) Washington Street.
Councilwoman Mason to Co-Host
Police Lieutenant Ken Ferrante sent this note out (along with this flier – click to read):
On Tuesday, September 22, 2009, the Hoboken Police Department will be hosting its 2nd Meet and Greet with Chief Anthony Falco. It will be held at St. Matthew’s Church on the corner 8th and Hudson St. at 7:00p.m. This meeting is for residents of 7th to 13th Sts, Washington St, Hudson St, Castle Point Terrace and the side streets in that area. We will have a future meeting for Maxwell Place, Independence Court, the Hudson Tea Building and surrounding large residential buildings, which will be separate due to different issues that concern them and this designated area.
Councilwoman Beth Mason will be co-hosting the event.
The night will feature meeting Chief Anthony Falco, who will give his insight on what his plans are for the Hoboken Police Department, followed by some words from Acting Mayor Dawn Zimmer and Councilwoman Mason. Then, members of the Community Policing Bureau will give presentations on: parking problems, the 911 system, school issues, bike safety, traffic/pedestrian safety, and buglaries and bike thefts. We will then give out our Police Department Survey which residents can complete there or mail in. We will then conclude with a 30-45 minute question and answer period.
The meet and greet is aimed to have the residents meet Chief Falco and to discuss Public Safety issues. This is not a politically motivated evening even though we will have two of our Mayoral candidates in attendance. The focus will remain on public safety so that the police department, the elected officials in attendance and the residents can get a better understanding of some issues that need to be addressed to help make our community a better one.
