Dave Roberts Lives!

9/15/2009:

Ego Trips!

Just like any Mayor we’ve had in Hoboken (including our interim one) – all of them like to see their “name in lights.” Which usually means plastering their name on practically any sign, communication, memo (and I wouldn’t be surprised of each ply of toilet paper at city hall as well).

Well here’s a memo to all current and future Mayors: You missed at least two. The Pier C Park sign, as well at the Hoboken Little League field. Hurry up and spend taxpayer dollars to fix ’em up now!

Send your Dave Roberts sightings in if you can find them!

What I want to know is when the Symposia book store is going to take that big thank you Dave Roberts sign out of their window. He’s two mayors ago, guys–you don’t have to suck up anymore!

Dave Roberts owns the building in which Symposia is located. They are thanking the landlord, not the mayor.

That’s not what the sign says–it says thank you Mayor Roberts, not thank you Landlord Roberts. Whatever–I haven’t gone in there in years anyway.

Maybe because Landlord Roberts told them what the sign should say and wanted to put some spin on it. If it says mayor, you might thing they mean it. If it says landlord, you think they were obligated to put it up.

Dave Roberts owns the building and was giving free or very low rent
in exchange for place to tell us all about his green plan (which never happened) etc

LOL. It is ALL about ego. First, the thrill of being “Mayor” but the bigger thrill comes from watching people swallow a HUGE tax increase and then watch them flounder as they do nothing about it.

The biggest thrill comes from when people come here on H411, post relevant information on how you can do something about it and all the suckers do is fight amongst themselves.

Watching people behave like the idiots while you fleece them is almost orgasmic, and reminding them with signs, daily, makes it a multiple orgasm.

The people of Hoboken (specifically the tax payers) are incredibly stupid people that would rather complain then fix the problems. Then they “hope” for “change” in people like Zimmer or Cammy or any of the other people who laugh at you.

It has almost become comedic to watch the stupidity level increase as the tax bill does same.

I’ve often wondered how much $$$ the city would save if they just wrote “Sponsored by the Mayor of Hoboken” instead of changing every. single. sign. in. town.

AND — how much the state would save by putting “THE GOVERNOR OF NJ WELCOMES YOU” generically on the highways signs instead of replacing every one of THOSE every four years.

what a waste of money.

you could probably feed 10,000 school kids lunch with that money.
