Best Buy coming to Jersey City

9/4/2009:

What? I thought retail was suffering!

Word on the street is that the old Linens and Things right across Hoboken’s southern border in Jersey City is set to become a big-box Best Buy.

I thought our economy was suffering, and people finally learned they can save money by purchasing on the internet.

Do you think this is a good idea for Best Buy?

Its great, what possibly could be bad or wrong about Best Buy opening a new store near Hoboken in this horrible recession. Obviously, its a Christmas time thing and who knows if they will last until next summer. And its a much better bet than Linen’s n Things.

You could also shoot down Route 22 and be at the Best Buy in Union in about 15minutes.

Or go buck wild and head out to the one on Route 10, stopping off at Kam Man supermarket for some ridiculously good Chinese or Vietnamese food of course.

Darn, I was really hoping that it was going to be a BuyBuyBaby. It sucks that the only one in NJ around here is in Bergen County, so it is closed on Sundays. On a side note, I wonder how much in sales tax NJ loses to NYC&NYC from people wanting to shop on Sundays.

son: The is one in Totowa that is open Sunday. Just go down route 3 to 46. It is fairly close to the Willowbrook Mall. The best sales staff is in NYC, but Totowa is OK and it’s open Sunday. Paramus is a PIA.

err Hoboken has this thing called the Path that goes under the river. You can be at the other store on 25th and 7th ave within a few minutes.
