QotD: City Hall Resumes

On the job training!

Today’s question of the day comes from Hoboken411 reader Vinny who says:

“The acting Mayor is asking for resumes for a bunch of job openings at town hall, calling it an “open process to create the strongest team possible.” However, what are Dawn Zimmer’s qualifications? Let’s see HER resume! From what I understand, other than being a rookie councilperson who has accomplished nothing so far, she was just a mom who took pictures with a camera!

In November, I’d like to see the resumes for all candidates side by side, and we’ll see who has the strongest skill set and experience to lead Hoboken!”

QotD: If the city demands qualified applicants for jobs at city hall – should the Mayor and other elected officials be held to the same process?

Oh, an if you’re interested which jobs the city is accepting resumes for, continue reading…

City Hall is hiring…

also i would support someone like joe della fave or helen manogue should they toss their hat in the ring. dawn has adopted the reform moniker but all i see is a fabricated candidate fabricating a new machine.

kenon10 – no spin. i would love to see pure public financing of campaigns. in fact i would allocate tax dollars to do so. the laws right now are very specific; check with eric kurta of p.o.g. it would be great to change the law but dawn is wasting time grandstanding (not unlike her softball game at maxwell place – symbolic gestures are nice but do not necessarily mean anything more than a photo-op). if dawn truly was a reformer she would have either appointed someone else to be acting/interim mayor or stepped down from her council seat. now she has three jobs; fourth ward councilperson, council president and mayor. she will also be campaigning. do you think she should take some vacation time to campaign or should she campaign during hours at city hall on our dime? how about her new confidential aide? is he a public servant installed in city hall to make it easier for constituent citizens to deal with the maze-like mechanics of government bureaucracy or is he a political advisor who will truly spin all of dawn’s activities into campaign benefits? we already have two information officers and judge judy fired sandra ramos from the constituent service job. i am only making the same kind of valid points i used to make regarding mayor roberts and i would have gotten around to had mayor cammerano had more time to do things. right now dawn is in three hot seats and brings little business or community… Read more »

What’d she go to clown college? Is that why you’re embarrassed to say it? No problem. I’ll assume she didn’t finish college or that it’s a school that embarrasses you. I was curious. If it was Harvard or Hudson County, it wouldn’t make a difference to me. But thanks for always showing what type of person you are.
