Yogurt lovers will soon have more choices in Hoboken, as OYO Yogurt is set to open up shortly! (As soon as this week).
Eco, Organic, and all that jazz
“OYO” is simply short for “Organic Yogurt,” and owner John Choi says that customers will be pleased with the entire operation!
From the aesthetically pleasing interior (which uses all eco-friendly building materials, such as bamboo, and even pressed paper counters), to the natural organic yogurts – to the kid-friendly backyard patio seating area – Oyo Yogurt has set itself apart from the competition.
The four flavors set for opening day are: Pomegranate, Mint Tea, “Yogurt Tart” (the standard flavor), and of course, Chocolate. In addition to the self-serve organic yogurts – toppings come in two varieties – 18 “wet” (fruits, syrups, etc.) and 10 “dry” (nuts, candy, sprinkles, etc.) Treats are competitively priced at $0.55 per ounce.
On top of the eco-friendly interior and organic yogurt – Bergen County resident John says that he’ll have a very sophisticated Point of Sale system, that tracks customer purchases – and he’ll offer bonus loyalty rewards after multiple purchases – all without needed to carry another card to clutter your wallet or key chain. Another cool feature of the shop is the energy efficient LED accent lighting, which changes colors smoothly to put you in a relaxed mood. Three LCD TV’s will also serve as informational panels.
Initial hours are set to be 12pm – 10pm daily – with possible later hours come this summer. Outdoor seating is also planned in the front eventually.
Wish John good luck with the new yogurt shop!
People just like saying “Yo!”
A new “Organic Yogurt” shop is moving into the old Emack & Bolio’s location at 517 Washington Street (which was initially rumored to become a PinkBerry). They’re expecting to open up shop sometime in November. This must be a relief for residents who were near suicidal that the So Green Yogurt shop abandoned plans earlier in the month…
[411 Note: I spoke with a worker on scene and he said the name of the new place was “OYO Yogurt” – which initially made sense to me, you know “Organic YOgurt.” But I couldn’t find anything on the web yet… I did see a “YO-YO Yogurt,” but it was small two-location independent business out on the left coast.]
PS – I’ve met my weekly quota for the word “Yogurt” thank you very much.
