Avenue Bistro & Bar
Had a chance to visit Avenue a couple times since they opened.
I happen to think the interior bar area is a nice, comfortable place to enjoy a cold drink. The staff was friendly and performed well. I’ve heard the food is very good, and will try to get down there for an evening meal one of these days soon.
Has anyone tried their food yet?

Looks like they may be opening today!

Here’s a little update. They’re making progress. Floors going in, bar framework installed and waiting for exterior finishing, and we have a new name replacing the old Da Vinci: “Avenue Bistro & Bar”. Inspired by how people used to call Washington Street “The Avenue”.
No definitive opening date, but most likely within a month or so (plus
or minus a few weeks). Hopefully before the All-Star Break!

Not in time for the Super Bowl. Although work is being completed at a satisfactory rate for the owners, they will not be open until the end of February. “No holdups in the process, it’s just very detailed and customized work they’re doing. It’ll be great once it’s done in about 3-4 weeks. More of a restaurant feel than anything else, marble bar, and about 85 customer capacity.” Said one owner.
Today, we had an opportunity to stop in and see what’s happening with DaVinci. What greeted us was a pile of rubble, along with owners Joe Raslowsky, Jose Rios and Isaac Rios.
The good news is that it wasn’t the Tasmanian Devil that ruined the joint, but that they’re going through a complete renovation of the restaurant. From the interior layout and menu all the way to changing the name as well!
In business as DaVinci since 1985, Joe (who’s previous experience includes managing the old Dooley’s Bar – now Mikie Squared) felt it was time for a change and is very thrilled about it. The UNLV culinary graduate and 4-Seasons alumni said planned changes include adding a much larger bar inside (the length of the restaurant) that seats about 40 people, and 8 flat-panel TV’s to compliment that increased bar space. The menu offerings will also be completely re-vamped from the ground up.
They’re enthusiastic about the update, and think that they’ll be able to accomodate more than just a dinner crowd now.
Expected conversion time should be about three months, just in time for the Super Bowl.
