Hobokenpix: “Malicious Neighbors”

8/25/2009:

Are cats really that much of a disturbance?

I thought this sight was just too funny.

Someone posted a Craigslist entry about a “lost gray and white cat” from Ridgewood, NJ over on a pole near 14th and Hudson. The person who wrote it had reason to believe his or her missing cat may have end up in Hoboken because “A malicious neighbor threatened to take it and dump it in Hoboken.”

While I have a tough time believing this sign – all I can wonder is how in God’s name can a neighbor get angry at a cat? They make hardly any noise!

Do you know of any cats that meow and howl and actually cause a disturbance for you?

When I moved out of my parents house and got my own and first apt. I had a cat. My landlady said it meowed all day. It was alone. I was at work. She asked me to get rid of the cat. Me and my cat moved to a different apt.

I’ve only adopted 1 cat in my life (the other was a stray that hung out on my patio). My cat was named Sticky. I found a liter of 12 kittens (maybe several days old) behind my family’s cheese steak business and picked up one of them to hold. It dug it’s little claws into my shirt and I didn’t want to break it’s little paws so I just left it on my shirt and went home. Sticky grew up to be less than a year old at my house and begun exploring. My next door neighbors were the evil trolls of the hood – hated everyone and would run out of their house with a knife or something if you dared stepped 1 inch on their lawn. Sticky, my cat, happened to walk across their lawn. They complained (he didn’t leave a turn, just crossed). They threatened to poison him. One day, I woke up and Sticky was Stiffy. Never adopted another cat in my life.

Growing up my cat would get out kill birds, mice etc and leave then on our neighbors stoop (as a gift) they really didn;t like that very much caused some issues. Unfortunately, Tiger got hit by a car although I thought he went to the farm…

Always notify the police when a threat like that is issued. When the person who issues the threat makes good on it, the police can be right there to intervene.

Maybe they don’t like it crapping in their yard… Still doesn’t excuse taking the cat.
