Local Chefs get “Chopped!”

There are so many cooking-based reality shows on TV these days – I cannot catch up!

Chefs from W Hoboken and Jersey City’s Ox compete

While I do enjoy Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen on DVR – I never realized many similar shows you have to choose from, such as Chopped on the Food Network.

I thought you might find it interesting that Executive Sous Chef David Kirschner from the W Hotel in Hoboken was one of the four contestants this week. Besides two other contestants from NYC – Chef and owner Nicole Puzio of Ox Restaurant in Jersey City also competed (she was “chopped” right away).

Chopped is a simple competition where four chefs are challenged to prepare four courses – and one gets cut (or “chopped”) after each course – leaving the last two chefs to compete for the $10,000 prize.

Anyway – Chef David only made it to the second round. Watch the video to see what they thought of his dish – and why he got “Chopped!”

It was a repeat this week; the episode with the Hobo connection (“High Hopes”) mentioned here was originally aired back on 23 June 09. Still, better late than never. 🙂
