The charity tournament runs until 4:30 PM, and will be followed by an Awards Ceremony and Tailgate in Lot 14 in the Giants Stadium parking lot from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
You can purchase tickets here for $20, with
40% 100% of proceeds going directly to the scholarship fund.
Very interesting event taking place on September 18th. Many members of the Hoboken Police and Fire departments will pay tribute to a fallen officer in a recent fatal shooting in Jersey City.
Organized by the Soccer Learning Center.
Benefit Fundraiser and Tournament
“Our soccer academy has been planning a benefit fundraiser for fallen Jersey City Police Detective, Marc Anthony DiNardo who died from his injuries just days after being shot in the line of duty on July 16th. As you may know, he leaves behind three beautiful children, Gwendolyn, age 4; Marc Anthony II, age 3; and one-year-old Ella.
Working alongside of the NY Red Bulls, we’ve arranged a tournament for September 18th at Giants Stadium with soccer players representing Hudson County law enforcement, fire department, sheriff and corrections departments. I am pleased to let you know that a team representing both the Hoboken Police Department and Hoboken Fire Department will be participating in the event. Hoboken Police Officer Vito Gigante has graciously volunteered to captain the official Hoboken team.
The tournament kicks off at 3:30 pm on the pitch at Giants Stadium. At 4:30 pm, we’ll move to a special award ceremony in the stadium. Also beginning at 4:30 pm, an Interactive Children’s Zone provided by the NY Red Bulls will offer free soccer entertainment for kids of all ages. At 7:30 pm, the NY Red Bulls vs. New England Revolution match will kick off and a special halftime ceremony will recognize the DiNardo family and the four other Jersey City Police Officers who were injured in the shooting.
Tickets to the event are only $20 each and can be purchased at our website at SoccerLearningCenter.com. All proceeds from the event will benefit the scholarship fund established for the DiNardo children by the Jersey City PBA.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend the day’s events if your schedule allows. As we need to coordinate our VIP attendees with the NY Red Bulls, I ask that you notify me of your ability to attend no later than September 1st, 2009. My contact information is noted below. I have also attached our latest press release and additional information regarding available sponsorship opportunities.
I do hope you can join us for a great game of soccer for an even greater cause!”
