the food was substandard and lukewarm, the portions were small and you have to open your own bottle of wine oh and the naan was like an undercooked pancake. if you want good Indian food I would suggest Karma Cafe or India on the Hudson

If you want some delicious Red Curry, order from Bangkok City….the chicken sucks, but the curry sauce is the best i’ve ever tasted….

This place is disgusting. Everything is way too oily, and they have bugs. stick with Karma Cafe.

I trust that my palate is good at determining good food from putrid food… Hasn’t failed me.

So here goes: I don’t know how else to say this, but although I love Indian food, Bombay West was just an awful experience. The taste of the food was pretty blech, and my husband became violently ill from his dish.

We’re happy to have forgotten what we ate at this place. Karma Kafe is much better, and the Chicken Tikka Masala is not “oily”. Sorry. It’s tomatoey, garlicky and thick, probably from the cream (could be coconut) and/or yogurt. Not sure of which of these they use in their sauce but there is no standard recipe for Tikka Masala.

I just created this account in order to review this place.

You all must either not know anything about Indian food, work for Karma Kafe, or both.

I’ve had Indian in all over the world except the mother-country. This is hands-down the best Indian place I’ve ever had.

Now I’ve not had the less interesting (in my opinion) non-curry dishes. But I can say that every curry dish I’ve had has been uniquely spiced and multi-flavored.

Don’t listen to the haters here. Go check it out yourself. The world needs Bombay West!
