I need my sunglasses at night
Not sure what the idea was on this brownstone on the corner of 9th and Park (above Art Cleaners) – but it seems to me that they’re gearing up to be the Hoboken St. Patrick’s Day Booze Headquarters for 2010!
Take a walk by – have you seen such neon green on a building in Hoboken (not during SPD)?
PS – if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive – send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description – if desired!!

What’s the problem? I thought green buildings were all the rage these days? Speaking of green, how about the place where soup man used to be? Is it some sort of undersea haven?

i saw this – horrific. there is one on garden as well somewhere between 6th and 9th that looks like it belongs in miami. somewhere around this neon green building is also a little yipping dog that is barking every time i walk by day or night. it has become a running joke to see if it will be barking and it almost always is. how the neighbors stand it i do not know – if i lived near that mutt i would poison it.

Hypothesis — could that bright green actually be a historical color? I once heard that people used lots of bright colors in the 1800’s, when modern chemistry enabled paint manufacturers to come out with neat-o palates of color that they never had before.
(Or it could just be a heinous mistake?)

the front doors on a lot houses are painted a bright color ,only the front door. old timers who lived in row houses ,that were all alike, painted their doors different colors so they were easier to find when they came home in the bag they didn’t enter the wrong house

hahahaha i live right by here and noticed them powerwashing the brick all last week. when they took down the tarp a few days later, i was really surprised by the choice of paint color. do you think they were trying to make it look like the apt one door down from them but failed to choose a more subtle green (oo i like that apt next to me, ill get that color paint for around the windows…(cut to after the painters paint)…oh crap.
hahaha hobojo–thats the best part of this building. you cant see them in this pic though.
this building rocks though, i laugh everytime i pass.

It’s not terrible, actually. I’d glue some mosaic tiles, beads and mirror fragments on the green, though, to minimize the powerful contrast.
I don’t know about anyone else. But I like bright colors, especially those of Spanish and Italian houses.
