Addictive pills stolen
About 20 minutes in the past – there was a robbery at the pharmacy section at the downtown CVS (59 Washington Street).
A white man, thought to be in his mid to late 30’s, beard, blue or black shorts, green shirt and a white NY Yankess cap allegedly presented a weapon at the CVS Pharmacy and made off with an unknown quantity of OxyContin pills.
Hoboken Police and NJ Transit Police searched the area furiously. At one point it was thought he boarded a NJT bus – but all searches came up negative. This incident was also broadcast on NJ’s SPEN network. Additionally, they have the suspect on video (the beard could have been a costume?)

What if the cops were in Murphey’s pub and had to finish their beers first?

Another “uncommon economic indicator.”
Lots of CVS’s, RiteAid’s, etc. are experiencing similar scenarios throughout NJ & beyond. Tylenol with Codeine, Darvon, Oxy-C., etc., at gun-point. And sometimes the cash box, while they’re at it.
Also folks wanting more benign things—-stuff for newborns…. Mostly five-fingered w/out weapons, thank g-d.
That much desperation in these hard times.

Doesn’t help that pharmaceutical companies have pushed these and many other drugs as solutions, whether they are needed or not.
Nice to see you, again.
