Poll: Will Cammarano crumble?

7/27/2009:

Few of us are privy to what current (for now) Mayor Peter Cammarano is planning behind the scenes with his defense for the bribery charges made against him. And we all know there is growing pressure for him to step down from office – and even a protest rally tonight at City Hall.

will-peter-cammarano-resign-ever

Will he resign? If so, when?

With many members of the city urging him to resign – do you think it will affect him? Or will he hold strong for the best deal? How long before anything substantial happens?

Vote below.

Will Peter Cammarano actually resign?

The mayor is still collecting his paycheck and has told us this episode will not affect his carrying out his responsibilities. (except maybe ribbon cutting ceremonies)

Mr Cammarano, why is it that on your 9th day in office you signed the letter to taxpayers saying the municipal tax has DECREASED by 5%. The attached bill shows the municipal tax rate is up nearly 10% from $1.771/100 last year to $1.937/100 this year. After you explain your misleading statement, can you explain this tax increase.

When will you release the budget for FY2009 that is finalized and ready to be sent to the state, so that we can see how much money was actually spent (and collected in taxes?)

Call City Hall and ask to speak to Mayor Peter Cammarano – 201-420-2013. Let the person know that you are a “concerned citizen” who would like to speak to the Mayor. The people of Hoboken deserve better than to be cheated by a fraud in charge.

How do you know Cammarano DOESN’T have a shitty personality? He sounded like a pretty big shit-head in those transcribed remarks in the indictment. In fact, I would like to honor him with an award: Shit-head of The Month. Perhaps that performance has earned him a walk down the red carpet at the Shit-head Academy Awards. And, for his shitty performance in that indictment he wins… disbarment? A lengthy jail sentence? A $250K fine? The possibilities are endless! Clap your hands, everyone! Personally, I never really gave 2 shits about a politician’s personality; as long as they could govern. And now we know how Petey governs: you pay me, I pay you (with favors). And f*ck the other guy– the one who was against him in his quest for power, not “powder” (that’s me, and a lot of others in this town). Does that 27-story building block your sunshine? Awwww, too bad. Wanna renovate your home? F*ck you, no permit for you. Unless… just fill the envelope, sweetie. That’s it… now you’re good to go! And of course, he boasted about being “the development guy” on the Council… promised CW he was “his man” to help with height, width and density zoning issues. Nice. Ever wonder how Hoboken turned from a scruffy but charming post-industrial town with open space to an overdeveloped town crammed with look-alike, architecturally vapid, over-sized condo buildings? That’s what you get when you vote for shit-heads.

Whatever it is, it’s not criminal. So, no it’s doesn’t make the person look worse than being caught accepting $25,000 in bribes.

But again, that’s my opinion. Obviously you feel differently.

Money comes and goes. But a shitty personality is forever.

I’m confused, are you still referring to the sign-holder or to PC? It seems like you’re making my point for me.

Yeah, not so much.

And no need to be confused. Allow me to clarify: it takes a crappy, high-schooler type to hold up a sign like that.

Clear?

Yup, clear as crystal.

You think the “crappy, high-schooler” types at the protest look worse than the people who did the perp-walk on national tv.

Right. That’s exactly what I said– what you want to read.

Now why don’t you and your fellow drama queens move on? Maybe you can all make signs together for the next rally.

Yes, it’s what we all read because it’s what you said.

You remember, the part about PC looking better than the whiny, arrogant bunch of critics. I’m not sure how else that could be read. But feel free to clarify (back-track) if you want.

If it bothers you so much, then just don’t read the posts.

Yeah, some of the signs were in poor taste, but people are angry. Maybe we’ll “move on” when we feel our tax money is being handled appropriately. What do you want people to do? Just shut up and be taken for fools?

By the way, your posts are pretty damn condescending sometimes, so I find it rather interesting that you talk about “high-schooler” types. Re-read your posts to etplante and then try to justify how “classy” they are.

Know what’s interesting about this fiasco? Cammarano’s silence is actually making him look better than the whiny, arrogant bunch of you.

(Note: I didn’t say “all” of you.)

It’s just all very interesting.

Wait. Are you actually coming out of the wrong end of trying to balance Cammarano’s silence after his alledged crime with the constitutionally protected right to free speech and peaceful assembly?

How does that metric work again?

The only reason he’s silent is because his lawyer has his hand over Petey’s gaping maw. It’s probably killing him that he can’t come out and say anything.

If you think posting on a message board and protesting in public looks worse than being caught on tape accepting bribes and disparaging pretty much the entire city you were elected to represent, I guess you’re entitled to your opinion.

Clearly you’re still on lock down.

But calling Cammarano a dork and telling him to bend over– now THAT’S class.
