Kebab “Pimp” House
Kebab House no more – thanks to hookers
Did you know that the Kebab House (62 Newark Street), which just opened up in late 2008 – is doomed?
The owner, Joseph Ruis (who also has (had) a Kebab House in Newark), was arrested earlier in the month for running a cash-heavy prostitution ring in Jersey City. Investigators estimated that he ran a $3 million dollar a year operation – charging from $500 – $3500 per hour for these “escorts.” They had a website called www.worldclasspartygirls.com – but it has since been removed. (I snagged some images of the girls earlier in the month if you want them – but I bet they were just “stock” images.) His bail was set at half a million dollars – not sure if he made bail.
While the HQ for this operation was on Sherman Avenue – all services were apparently dispatched out. Investigators obtained hundreds of customer records and credit card numbers and claimed no prominent Hoboken or Hudson County Officials were listed (yeah – after you shredded that info!)
Another business is expected to take the old Kebab House spot sometime soon. Hopefully the food will be of better value.
Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said the investigation had been ongoing for six months, based on information provided by the Hoboken Police.
