7/19/2009:
Man jumps into Hudson (again)
Overheard on the Hoboken411 Live Police Fire and Action Channel – the Pier C jumper is disrupting and otherwise calm and beautiful Sunday.
About 10 minutes ago, a family member of this troubled individual walked into police headquarters, saying that “they got into some kind of fight” – and the jumper threatened to jump in the Hudson River once again.
The jumper then snuck out onto the incomplete Pier C Park. Police slowly walked out, trying to talk him out of jumping.
He jumped anyway, and is now “stuck” underneath the pier. Hoboken fire harbor patrol as well as the NYPD “scuba team.”
Listen in for all the current action.

NYPD harbor patrol apparently plucked him from the water – and the guy wrestled free and jumped off the police boat back in the water.
Maybe he just likes swimming?

That’s what I think.
Can’t we just let folks live (even if it’s in the Hudson river)?

Why can’t the police just let him drown? It’s obvious he is either looking to drown, or for attention.

That asshole jumper should be placed in jail. He has jumped into the river dozens of time placing the saftey of police and fire personnel in danger. Plus the cost of all emergency personnel, police, fire, harbor patrol, air support. When that same asshole threatened to jump off the roof a few months ago Washington street was at a stand still. HPD, HFD, PAPD EMS.
Jail that asshole!!!!

No. Not jail – we’d end up paying for that, as well. Next time he pulls this crap, let the river do its job.
Gabba Gabba Hey, tramp.
