Readerpix: Human-like Squirrel

7/16/2009:
A “longtime” Hoboken411 reader sent in this picture recently…
Hoboken411 reader photo of the day – 7/16/2009
“I was walking to get my car at the Park on Park garage one morning along Garden Street between 14th & 15th Street when I crossed paths with this fearless squirrel standing on his hind legs devouring an enormous slice of pizza, properly folded! I found it quite comical and snapped a picture with my cell phone. A few friends at dinner last night requested that I send it into Hoboken411.”
Thanks for the pic! – But as I realized my cupboards were bare, and about all I had in the house were Emerald Dry Roasted Peanuts – “Something ain’t right here!”
[Stay tuned for tomorrow's Readerpix entry! - Note: one reader's photo(s) will be featured each day at approximately 11am. Unless your photo is time-sensitive - it will be published in the order it was received! Additional note: Your pictures will have a better chance of being published if they're in "landscape" mode, as opposed to the taller "portrait" modes... ]

Only an American squirrel would do this.
Is it me, or has anyone noticed that the squirrels are a lot fatter this year than others. Either that, or a heavier coat. Can they predict bad winters? And if so, maybe I should begin ordering a few pizzas a week. jdm’s already set.

I love pizza eating squirrels. I see them quite often in Hoboken. The other day I saw a squirrel climbing a tree with an empty juice box carton in his mouth. He dropped it once he got up in the tree.

I never fold my pizza slice in half ’cause all the grease starts dripping down. That squirrel needs a napkin
.
But, so, anyway, this is one of the cutest shots I’ve seen on 411. I feed my squirrel buddies handfuls of cereal, sunflower seeds and honey-roasted peanuts when they stop in our backyard– anything to watch them meticulously chow down.

My friend and little brother caught a squirrel once by placing some peanuts inside a slip knot they read about in a boy scout handbook. No fake!!!!!
