Park Avenue Grill

10/11/06 Update:
Despite their denial to admit it, the Park Avenue Grill is up for sale. Obviously, since they don’t go by that fruity “Mr. Wraps” name anymore, not nearly as many customers go there to watch the lackadaisical slackers make your food at overpriced rates. It may be good, but something is just not right with the scale of economy. $14 for a Roast Beef sandwich? I have to say it’s a lot better than a Quiznos, but still.
So, they inadvertently admitted they’re moving back into the old Mr. Wraps location, as soon as some individual hands over $120,000 to them for the pedsetrian and uninspiring “Grill” location. I’ve never seen less effort put into interior restaurant accomodations in my life. Yeah, it may be clean and uncluttered, but I feel like I’m in an unoccupied apartment ready to rent every time I eat there. It’s freaky in a way.
Here’s the ad from R.Fiore:

Read initial review from end of March 2006:
Quick review 3/29/2006: What was supposed to be a quick hungover snack turned out to be a new business review! Rather unimpressed with the interior, although it was clean. Just kind of plain. The kitchen didn't look like it was going to produce anything spectacular. Boy, was I wrong. I looked at the menu, and noticed some very non-standard concoctions. Didn't have time to analyze it with a fine tooth comb, so I just got this southwest burger ($6.75) which came with fries and topped with cheddar, avocado, lettuce, salsa and chipotle mayo. A yummy crisp pickle was included as well. My dining companion got the chicken cobb salad ($7.95) which is self explanatory.
Much to our delight, the food was very fresh and well prepared. The burger was bigger than you'd expect and the fries were light and just crispy enough. They had other things on the menu, such as grilled pizzas, crab cakes, breakfast, special sandwiches. In addition to some dinner entrees and pasta. Park Ave. Grill is operated by the same owner as the heralded Mr. Wraps. As of 4/4/06 the grill has been temporarily closed due to "equipment failure". Hopefully nothing other than that went wrong. That's that for the quick review! I wish them luck and hope the quality of the food continues and is consistent across the menu.

They’re moving back to the original location. Maybe it has something to do with the rent/real estate. I asked them why they’re moving..

I have been to both stores and they are great! The food is delicious, the decor was beautiful and the service was excellent. The pictures on the walls were different, dressed up the place. The gentleman “brother” behind the counter has always been courteous and great with my children. They love going there. He puts movies on for them like “Shrek” and they have many more. They have a 52″ flatscreen TV for their customers. My husband likes to go there and watch sports while he is eating. The owners always talked with us and were very nice. The appetizers are out of this world. Try the loaded potato skins, THEY ARE AWESOME! If you want to try a nice place to eat with good food! Try Mr. Wraps/Park Ave. Grill, you’ll love it!

I just ate lunch here with my mom. The place was full of high school kids which was the worst thing I can say about it. It was actually really good, and the fries are to die for!!
The place isn’t decorated all the great, not fancy at all…but I would definitely eat there again for lunch. Dinner? Not so much, but it is what it is.

that’s ridiculous that whoever is writing these absurd comments about Mr.Wraps is obviously someone who is bored and have no life. Mr.Wraps happens to be one of the best restaurants in town. Hoboken411,cliams he eats at Mr.Wraps often but yet the food is disguesting and not served well???? so why keep going back?? do you like eating nasty food?? i guess so.. and if you people think the prices are too expensive take your fatasses to mcdonalds and eat there,, maybe you guys can pull off a law suit for eventually getting obese,,
,, the location is perfectly fine,, the big screen tv makes it even better,,,hoboken 411 forgot to mention that,,the service is awesome and the employees happen to be very outgoing…And for that comment someone made about the menu being plain,,come on be serious are u eating the menu or the food,,, you dont need fancy colors and pictures to read “cheeseburger and fries” ,,, people could be so dumb sometimes, What do u think this is ,franky and johnnys? well i’ll b staying tuned to these stupid comments people write about Mr.Wraps and i will be commenting back,,,

Maybe if you read the reviews, you’d see that I never said the food was bad. Just honest opinions of what I experienced.

I contacted the realtor about 2 months ago and apparently it’s no longer for sale or it’s been sold.

i can’t imagine the gang of brothers/ cousins who run this operation could exactly retire for $120K – they’re like 25 years old! The food is simple but predictably standard/good. They’ve told me they always have intended to move back to Garden St (to the Mr Wraps location)–but they haven’t been able to schedule their permit/ inspection until 2 weeks ago (haven’t been by there since). As far as I can recall, they moved OFF of Garden about 8 months ago–eek-but the work hasn’t started at the old Mr Wraps because they haven’t gotten their permit yet!?!? how truly pathetic.
If they DO sell out, we’ll all be bitching and moaning when whatever takes their place charges $1 more for everything.
Big fans of Mr. Wraps/ Park Ave Grill,

Gave them my business yesterday evening. I’ve got to say, for dining al fresco, it was pretty pleasant and off the beaten path. $9 for a wrap (overstuffed at that) and water isn’t going to break the bank either. I’ve been there before, and have witnessed acts of laziness, but the staff seemed much more attentive last night. Overall, I was pleased with my meal and overall service

last night my pita grill delivery took an hour and 15 minutes, in contrast to the usual 45. they later admitted they were short by one delivery guy that night. the food finally came and they mixed up the order even though it was correct on the receipt. i ordered a greek salad with no olives. they brought a greek salad with grilled chicken, olives, and no stuffed grape leaves. i guess i got free chicken by mistake so it’s a good thing i’m not a vegetarian.
i’m looking for somewhere else that can delivery healthy salad type food in a decent amount of time. it’s greek to me and mr wraps will be getting some of my business pretty soon!

Try Ali Baba!! Great salads and I think they were at my door 10 minutes after I hung up the phone. And as for Pita Grill’s delivery issues – same thing happened to me not too long ago
Of note, SaladWorks charges for delivery ($2 maybe?). But I do like their salads
