7/14/2009:

Hoboken411 reader Rob sent in a photo of a common sight in town – the dreaded parking boot. This time, however, it matched the vehicle!

Why else would one boot their own car?

I wasn’t whether the city or the owner was booting their own car. Duh. It is very rare seeing someone use a boot as an anti theft device. Just wanted some clarification.

I see them quite regularly these days, mostly on cars that have been upgraded one way or another.

Is it a yellow boot, or a little red thing? There’s a car like that that has a red one, which is actually an anti-theft device.

There is a black Honda Civic that parks on 9th St between Jefferson and Adams. Boot has been on his car for months now. Does anyone have any idea who this is or what is going on with this?

Are you sure it’s a HPU boot, and not one he put on himself to prevent theft?
