Capitalizing on the 4th…

7/2/2009:
Strangers in your house?
Any time there’s a large gathering of people (such as this Saturday’s 4th of July Spectacular) – someone is there to try and make a buck from it. From selling t-shirts and memorabilia, inviting food vendors – or renting your “view” out like this guy is doing on Craigslist!
Would you invite strangers to your house for a fee?
I’ll take this opportunity again to remind folks that I think crimes such as burglaries and car break-ins might be a bit more common in Hoboken on the 4th – as everyone’s attention will be focused elsewhere… so stay aware!

I hope those folks paying $25 each won’t be too disappointed when the city kicks them off the roof, as they’ve made clear they intend to do. Maybe the advertiser will make enough to cover the fine.

Good point. Our building has hired security guards for July 4th after the St.P’s debacle that left our building and courtyard with thousands of $ in damage.

I won’t be a bit surprised if I hear of a roof or balcony collapsing under the weight of too many drunk people.
